LOCATION:
The city of Ipoh is located about 200 km north of Kuala Lumpur. Journey through the North South Expressway (NSE or PLUS Highway) takes a breezy 2 1/2 hours through scenic rolling valleys, palm oil plantations and limestone hills of Peninsula Malaysia. Distances from other major cities: Penang (2 hours), Johor Bharu (6 hours), Singapore (6 1/2 hours) and Kuantan (5 hours).

This recreational park is located off Jalan Tambun to the east of the city.

DESCRIPTION:
Often playing a second fiddle to the more popular Taman D. R. Seenivasagam, this recreational park is really nice from my impression. It is well-hidden from public view off the main road of Jalan Tambun, hence not that many people are aware of its existence.

It is also known as the Polo Ground, mainly because the famed Ipoh Turf Club race course is located nearby. Anyway, there is no horse race in this recreational park. The park seems to be well-maintained with great outdoor paraphernalia. This park is also said to have the best jogging track in the city and I tend to agree. There is also an expansive open space for morning tai chi and aerobics.

Also, I think the view of the limestone hills in the far distance is really breathtaking.

MY VERDICT:
A great place to hang out and exercise. Not too crowded just as yet as it is relatively unknown.
