LOCATION: At Jalan Jeriau, en route to Jeriau Waterfalls. From the Fraser's Hill clock tower, take a 12-o'clock roundabout turn. There should be well marked signboards to guide you to this resort.
DESCRIPTION: Not to be mistaken with its sister resort in Cameron Highlands. I never knew that there is another Smokehouse in Fraser's Hill, until recently. Nonetheless, Ye Olde Smokehouse evokes similar old world charm of English countryside.
Beautiful stone masonry, well-manicured English garden, sumptuous treats of English tea and scones are among the few highlights at the resort. Nonetheless, it does come with a premium, but for well-appointed guest rooms with equipped with fire place and offering tranquil ambience, it might justify the prices to some of us.
The cheapest room available is Halycon Lodge, which will set you back about RM300 per night. Rates go further up for Charles, Cottage, Owen, New Haven, Russell, Alexander, Ashley, Guinevere and Laura.

MY VERDICT: A tad on the expensive side. But for those looking for one-of-its-kind experience in Malaysia, it is well worth the money.
