LOCATION: The hotel is located in Bandar Hilir, Melaka. Near the Porta de Santiago old fort, St. Paul's Church and the Mahkota Parade.
DESCRIPTION: What seems to be a 20-storey hotel is located right smack in the heart of attraction of this historic city. A walking distance away will bring you to the famous Porta de Santiago (or commonly named as Kota A Famosa) or what's left of it, the Stadhuys (a Dutch fort), St. Paul's Church on top of the hill, the architecturally enriching Malacca Museum, and others.
The Superior room that I stayed in was quite decent, with slightly unappealing bedsheet colour (actually, outdated is a better description), and pleasing wooden furniture that somewhat emulates the bygone old era.
The hotel also hosts a number of award-winning F&B outlets. I patronised 3 different restaurants throughout my stay at the hotel with varying (and good!) food theme; exquisite Nyonya fanfares which was eye-opening at Seri Nyonya Peranakan Restaurant, above-average Japanese dishes at Kampachi Restaurant, and sumptuous Chinese cuisines at Golden Phoenix Restaurant. My daily buffet breakfast was at Resthouse Café located on the main lobby.
The swimming pool is located some floors above, providing some excellent views of the city.

MY VERDICT: Pretty good overall. A nice hotel ambience with some historic feel attached to the overall design and fittings. Superb restaurants.
