LOCATION:
At Teluk Burau, some 20 minutes from Langkawi International Airport (LGK) or 45 minutes from Kuah town.

DESCRIPTION:
Mutiara Burau Bay Beach Resort nestles at a secluded location on Teluk Burau. The resort is also partially fronting Pantai Kok (or Kok Beach). A very interesting resort concept.

All rooms in Mutiara Burau Bay Beach Resort are of cabaña units of either studio or 1-bedroom, as well as two well-appointed suites. Certainly a good prelude to the theme life-is-a-beach this Mutiara resort is trying to sell.

The swimming pool is small by any standard. But a 2-minute walk away lies the decent-looking beach of Teluk Burau, a long sandy area excellent for sunbathing and swimming. Also this resort dwells on its tagline "...in the forest by the bay" quite nicely. I saw a lot of signboard of describing the local plants and animals that could be found in the resort compound. Pretty neat!

The room is fairly decent. A good compact design overall. At least everyone has their own separate unit to boot. It comes with a price though, ie: much smaller bathroom. Looking at the bathroom size, I wonder if any mere mortals who are horizontally challenged could ever find a breathing space in there.

I tried the BBQ at the Seri Mutiara Restaurant & Terrace. Fabulous food. Love the satay and grilled squids. Although these hot selling items went pretty quickly.

MY VERDICT:
The resort meets my expectation. I had a lovely time here.
