LOCATION:
Some 10 minutes from Kuah town. If you heading to Sheraton Perdana Langkawi, you will see the entrance to this yacht club on your right prior to entering the resort.
DESCRIPTION:
Royal Langkawi Yacht Club (RLYC) probably has the biggest marina in Langkawi with some 200+ berths. In comparison, Telaga Harbour Marina can only host about 70+ yachts.
Apart from the massive berths, RLYC also provides some other excellent facilities for non-mariners. The tastefully designed Charlie's Place Restaurant & Bar is an eatery built facing the beautiful marina front and the surrounding islands. Then there is also Captain's Deck Restaurant which caters more towards fine dining with live bands, also with astounding views of the ocean.
Other facilities include an architecturally-wonderful Club House cum Marina Office, a convenience store, internet café, fueling station as well as East Marine dive shop, from which I arranged my diving trip to Pulau Payar.
MY VERDICT:
Nice view of the surrounding islands.
