LOCATION:
At Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur. Next to Menara Citibank.

DESCRIPTION:
A 5-star establishment at the heart of Ampang Park commercial area. Not exactly a new hotel.

I stayed in a standard room, which was nothing to shout about. A fairly regular room fittings and average sized bathroom. The swimming pool was small. But the lobby and lounge areas were nicely done with a huge glass wall overlooking a tropical garden with man-made waterfall.

Surprisingly the receptionists consisted mostly of Japanese ladies, with fairly undecipherable English. Perhaps to cater for the many Japanese guests. If I'm not mistaken, Nikko Hotel is managed by an associate of Japanese Airlines (JAL), which accommodates passengers from JAL in KL.

REVIEWED ON:
September 2004

MY VERDICT:
A decent hotel to stay. A bit overrated in my view, judging from the hotel rates. The rooms may need some re-fittings into a more modern design.

MY RATING:
